We are a licensed venue and can hold civil ceremonies in five unbeatable spaces, suitable for an intimate sharing of vows or larger celebrations of up to 140 guests. So explore our stunning Hall or wander the picturesque grounds to find the perfect spot that is proudly ours and exclusively yours.

Our bright and beautiful ceremony room is made even more idyllic by its views of the front lawn.

It features an ornate fireplace, painted wall panelling and striking chandeliers that gives you a space with a twist on the traditional country house.

The ceremony room can seat up to 95 guests.

19th Century Chapel

Our largest indoor ceremony space is bustling with character. With original stone architecture and vaulted ceilings, this impressive space is filled with neutral tones that allow you to easily add your personal touch.

The chapel is grand and can hold ceremonies for up to 140 seated guests.

Front South–Facing Lawn

Our stunning pergola placed on the front south facing lawn, creates a picture perfect ceremony from every angle.

Under the Hollies

Overlook our private woodlands from the east lawn during your beautiful outdoor ceremony. Our holly trees create the perfect backdrop, whilst the sounds of running streams and mini waterfalls bring to life the breath-taking scene.

Use nature as your canvas for a wedding ceremony that will create lasting memories. Saying your vows ‘under the hollies’ is perfect for intimate ceremonies with up to 10 seated guests and 130 standing guests.

The Rooftop

The rooftop is framed by our beautiful walled garden and picturesque grounds. With unbeatable panoramic views, you can say your vows with the Northumberland coast on its horizon.

Then step through to the mezzanine, to sign the register in front of the breath-taking and iconic Chapel Window.

Our rooftop space really has it all and can hold up to 60 guests for outdoor ceremonies.

Traditional Church

Have your dream church wedding with Ellingham Hall. Step through our secret door nestled in our private woodland and walk to the local St Maurice Church, set in the village of Ellingham.

After the wedding ceremony you can then return taking this romantic short stroll, to enjoy your wedding reception with loved ones in our idyllic countryside setting.

Arrange a Viewing

We chose Ellingham Hall due to wanting a full weekend to celebrate such a special moment. We got married at our local church on the Friday before heading up to celebrate Friday night surrounded by all of our family and the following day Saturday surrounded by our friends and family. We wanted a party vibe and we got that. The fact that it was 4 days before Christmas made it even more magical. The Ellingham team went out there way to make sure everything went so smoothly throughout the weekend, nothing was an issue. Special mention to Hannah who was always there to help whenever we needed her. I wish we could relive full weekend again!

As soon as we walked through the doors at Ellingham hall we knew it was going to be our venue, we looked at a few others but always found ourselves comparing them back to Ellingham hall, it had everything we could’ve asked for.
The staff were all amazing throughout from the planning process to the big day, Wendy had us at ease through it all and had all the answers to all our daft questions.
Everyone who came had commented on how lovely the venue is, how fantastic the staff are and how amazing the food was the entire time we were there

Throughout our stay, from start to finish. The staff worked so hard. Always calm, well organised, with someone always on hand if needed. Staff constantly and discreetly clearing glasses, plates and guest debris, the rooms always stayed looking plush. On the Big Day, on hand to keep everything running on time and on track. Food service from walking the room with canapés to serving Wedding breakfast and Friday morning breakfast was spot on and professional from a well managed young team.

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon, a very easy and smooth arrival process. Bar was open for the arrival of guests. Rooms were all well appointed with all your tea, coffee needs. We had a great barbecue style evening family buffet with all the guests. Plentiful and tasty. The sitting area near the bar had the bride and grooms playlist in the background for us to enjoy and chat over. The den was used by several guests through to the early hours! . We started Thursday morning with Sausage sandwiches which were great. Bar opened at 11:30 for a swift one before the main event. The room was perfect for the ceremony. Excellent canapés served with a drink whilst the photographs got underway. Wedding breakfast, served in the Chapel again superb quality. We then had a break with a cocktail hour. The mojitos were great. Our evening entertainment started at 7pm for first dance. We had a short break at 9pm to build burgers before we partied on till midnight. Friday morning, Full English breakfast. Again super quality.

Ellingham Hall is the most stunning venue, and we knew it was the one for us the moment we stepped inside. We travelled around 3 hours in search of the perfect venue, and after a long search without finding “”the one,”” Ellingham instantly stood out. The staff are absolutely amazing, they went above and beyond to help us create the most perfect day, and it truly was perfect. We honestly can’t thank them enough. From recommending suppliers (since we lived further away), to answering all our questions, to helping us set up for the big day, they were always there for us. We loved that Ellingham is a two-night wedding venue and that it’s exclusively yours during your stay, which made everything feel so personal and intimate. One of our favourite touches was the Poochie Parlour, our dogs are a huge part of our lives, so having a space for them meant everything to us. We’re really hoping they host another Dine & Stay around Christmas or Valentine’s, any excuse to go back! All our guests had such lovely things to say about the staff and the Hall itself. Thank you again for the most amazing day.

“We can’t begin to thank everyone at Ellingham hall for making our wedding the most beautiful and memorable day.

We got married at the beginning of December and went for a 3 day wedding, Friday-Sunday. Ellingham was transformed into a winter wonderland with its beautiful Christmas decor. The Friday night was so lovely to be able to spend time with all our loved ones together before the big day.

The team were so friendly and really felt like an extension of our wedding party/guests. You’re truly made to feel like the venue is your home. Everyone was so attentive and the whole weekend was stress free and the wedding ran smoothly despite the threat of a storm!

We loved how the wedding day didn’t have to end at 12am and could continue the celebrations into the night in the Hall’s secret club/den which was highlight for us.

We also have to mention how incredible the food was the whole weekend and how easily they catered for our guests dietary requirements.

Everyone who attended the wedding continues to speak about how it was the most beautiful wedding they had experienced. Ellingham hall is truly a magical place and we wish we could do it all again!
