The Den

The Den, underground Games Room is a complimentary extra within your Two Night Wedding Experience.

It is the perfect space for having fun with family and friends and sets a great vibe the night before your wedding day. Or head underground until 2am, for a fun wedding after party when the bar closes at midnight on your wedding day.

This underground entertainment space has a unique industrial style, with neon lights, leopard print cinema seating and bare brick walls. Choose whether you wish to play a game of pool, table football, darts or maybe just chill in front of the TV and enjoy your favourite Netflix show.

The Den also features its own music system and has everything you need for an evening of laughter and creating special memories.

After Dark

When a wedding day has been this good, we wouldn’t want it to end either! That’s why we offer you the option to extend your party from midnight until 2am in our After Dark secret party chamber.

At midnight when the bar closes, you and your resident guests can head down for the ultimate wedding after party and discover our underground party chamber. This secret space is fitted with stylish booth seating, upholstered in flamboyant fabrics from British Designer Emma J Shipley, a dancefloor, music system and funky neon lighting.

Party the night away and enjoy one of our pre-ordered After Dark drinks packages and munch on our midnight menu.

“I booked a lunch party at Ellingham Hall for a very discerning group comprising of generous supporters of a local charity. We were 27 people and we enjoyed a Champagne reception before a delicious three course lunch. Wendy and her team could not do enough for us, our every request was granted. Dietary requirements were very efficiently and creatively dealt with and the result was a most enjoyable event at a price I was very satisfied with. What a beautiful venue! Me and my partner just got married at Ellingham and we could not have chosen a better venue. From booking the venue, to our special day everything was just amazing. Staff have been so great with us and were always there to answer any questions we had leading up to our day. “I have hosted seminars for over 30 years, all over the country at various well-known venues. At Ellingham Hall you remember everything, from the beautiful quirky venue which has retained its historic features, the friendly staff, great service and the delicious food and amazing coffee! The meeting room had good light and was the perfect size for our event. It was lovely to have use of the comfortable reception rooms too for breaks and lunch. I was very impressed with the extra spaces such as the basement games room and rooftop networking terrace. It is a hidden jewel in the North-East and I am planning to return soon for a private family event”

We chose Ellingham Hall due to wanting a full weekend to celebrate such a special moment. We got married at our local church on the Friday before heading up to celebrate Friday night surrounded by all of our family and the following day Saturday surrounded by our friends and family. We wanted a party vibe and we got that. The fact that it was 4 days before Christmas made it even more magical. The Ellingham team went out there way to make sure everything went so smoothly throughout the weekend, nothing was an issue. Special mention to Hannah who was always there to help whenever we needed her. I wish we could relive full weekend again!

We had our wedding in October 2024. From start to finish across the entire two days, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. A special thanks to Wendy for checking in on Anne-Marie a lot on the morning of the wedding and everything she done in the lead up to the wedding – it was greatly appreciated. Hannah was also a star across the two days – they make a great double act to ensure your days go as smoothly as possible.

On the morning of the wedding, the weather was grim with rain and hailstones but as if by magic, as soon as the ceremony started, the clouds parted and we were greeted with sun for the rest of the day. This allowed us to get all of our photos outside with the beautiful scenery as this was a massive selling point for us. To top off the day, we were lucky enough to be treated to an amazing show by the Northern Lights!

All of our guests have said that they have an amazing time and it was the best wedding they had been to. All of the staff were amazing and we couldn’t thank you enough for making our wedding as perfect as it was!

“The venue was immaculately presented and very welcoming. Easy to find just off the A1, with plenty of parking next to the meeting rooms and closer space to unload equipment. The area provided for breakout/coffee/lunch had plenty of room and was a relaxed environment, which gave delegates the chance to meet each other before the conference. The food and drink was plentiful, and of a good standard. The meeting room itself was well equipped and a nice size for our group, not to feel crowded, but also not lost as can happen in large rooms. The staff were on hand all day and happy to help with any of our requests.”
