We are delighted to be named best historic wedding venue in the North East and Yorkshire at The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).
The team was presented with the accolade on Tuesday 4th November at the TWIA Awards Ceremony at South Causey Inn. They will now compete against other regions for the national award, which takes place at a glittering ceremony in Liverpool in January 2026.
It’s an incredible feat for the wedding venue whose events team was previously crowned TWIA National Winner for Events Team of the Year in 2024 and Regional Winner for three consecutive years.
General Manager Matt Collins said he was thrilled that Ellingham Hall had been recognised once again at the awards.
“We were up against some tough competition, so to be named the best historic wedding venue in the North East and Yorkshire is a testament to our whole team,” he said.
“While the Hall itself is stunning and set in beautiful grounds, it’s only part of the story. It’s the people who make the wedding dreams of our guests happen that are crucial to what Ellingham Hall stands for.”
Having led the team for 18 years, Group Director Anthony Hunter said “The Ellingham Hall team never fails to go the extra mile, which is why they’ve achieved success at TWIA over several years now.
“The latest award shows what happens when an impressive venue steeped in history is coupled with a fantastic team of dedicated people. The feedback and volume of votes from our couples makes me proud of everyone at Ellingham Hall and the hard work that goes into each two night wedding celebration”.

“The hall catered for everything we needed, from the luxury entrance rooms, to the grounds outside, which we used to talk with clients in more detail afterwards. It was exactly what we wanted to allow us to host a presentation of this size. Guests were welcomed with a selection of drinks and canapés in the entrance hall and then again on departure. The seminar itself took place in the Chapel, while the dining room and drawing room provided the perfect spaces clients to relax.
