We are absolutely delighted to announce that our Events Team has again been shortlisted as a Regional Finalist at The Wedding Industry Awards 2023!

Last year, our events team were crowned North East and Yorkshire’s Event Team of the Year , so we are incredibly excited to be nominated for the second year running.

The accolade demonstrates that our couples recognise every member of staff and the hard work that goes into making their wedding one to remember.

Director Anthony Hunter said, “It’s a real achievement to be nominated two years running, especially during such a busy year when we’ve worked even harder to accommodate those couples who had to cancel their plans due to the pandemic.

“The award is not just an accolade for the Events Team, it acknowledges the tremendous effort that every single member of staff makes for our couples.”

General Manager David Fordham-Scott said, “The entire team at Ellingham Hall should feel very proud. We would like to thank all our couples who voted for us this year, we are extremely grateful.

“Every member from each department has to pull together to ensure everything runs smoothly as our couples have exclusive use of the venue for two days.

“So, as well as our Weddings Team – who plan the wedding from the welcome the night before, to the evening reception and the morning after – all our departments must work together seamlessly to ensure our couples have an unforgettable experience.”

The Regional Awards will take place on 7^th November at a glittering ceremony at The Fed – and if we are successful for the second year running, we’ll go through to the National Finals in London on 25^th January.

Ellingham Hall is the most stunning venue, and we knew it was the one for us the moment we stepped inside. We travelled around 3 hours in search of the perfect venue, and after a long search without finding “”the one,”” Ellingham instantly stood out. The staff are absolutely amazing, they went above and beyond to help us create the most perfect day, and it truly was perfect. We honestly can’t thank them enough. From recommending suppliers (since we lived further away), to answering all our questions, to helping us set up for the big day, they were always there for us. We loved that Ellingham is a two-night wedding venue and that it’s exclusively yours during your stay, which made everything feel so personal and intimate. One of our favourite touches was the Poochie Parlour, our dogs are a huge part of our lives, so having a space for them meant everything to us. We’re really hoping they host another Dine & Stay around Christmas or Valentine’s, any excuse to go back! All our guests had such lovely things to say about the staff and the Hall itself. Throughout our stay, from start to finish. The staff worked so hard. Always calm, well organised, with someone always on hand if needed. Staff constantly and discreetly clearing glasses, plates and guest debris, the rooms always stayed looking plush. On the Big Day, on hand to keep everything running on time and on track. Food service from walking the room with canapés to serving Wedding breakfast and Friday morning breakfast was spot on and professional from a well managed young team.

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon, a very easy and smooth arrival process. Bar was open for the arrival of guests. Rooms were all well appointed with all your tea, coffee needs. We had a great barbecue style evening family buffet with all the guests. Plentiful and tasty. The sitting area near the bar had the bride and grooms playlist in the background for us to enjoy and chat over. The den was used by several guests through to the early hours! . We started Thursday morning with Sausage sandwiches which were great. Bar opened at 11:30 for a swift one before the main event. The room was perfect for the ceremony. Excellent canapés served with a drink whilst the photographs got underway. Wedding breakfast, served in the Chapel again superb quality. We then had a break with a cocktail hour. The mojitos were great. Our evening entertainment started at 7pm for first dance. We had a short break at 9pm to build burgers before we partied on till midnight. Friday morning, Full English breakfast. Again super quality.
