We had a cracking day when families from across the region joined us to celebrate Easter at our Easter Eggstravaganza Family event.
Children from as young as two, up to twelve, had a fun-packed time and also got the chance to meet the Easter Bunny during the exciting day of activities.
Our chapel was the place to be for the obligatory egg decorating competition, and we received some fantastic entries from all age groups. We were delighted to award 11-year-old Gabriella as the winner with her fantastic peacock egg creation.
There were also seven different craft stations for the little ones (and, let’s be honest some parents too) to join in with, including paper plate decorating, Easter card making and build a bunny.
After a tasty barbecue lunch, the afternoon started with an Easter canvas making workshop run by Jayne Stafford from The Creation Station. There were many different designs with some parents helping little ones to use their painted hands and feet to create some fantastic images.
Face-painting was also on offer throughout the day and most children sported fun quirky designs thanks to Sue Parker at Painted Face.
Our young guests then got the chance to take part in a woodland egg hunt in our beautiful scenic grounds. They were joined by parents who helped them to work out the clues, hidden within eggs. Children had 6 coloured plastic eggs to collect, before returning them to the Easter bunny to receive a novelty chocolate egg.
Lynn Sanderson, Corporate Sales and Marketing Manager, said it was a great day.
She said: “The sun was shining, and we had a lovely time. There were lots going on and parents said they really enjoyed being here at the Hall because there was so much for their children to enjoy in a beautiful setting. This is our first family event this year at the Hall, and we are looking forward to our next event during the summer holidays.”

Ellingham Hall is the most stunning venue, and we knew it was the one for us the moment we stepped inside. We travelled around 3 hours in search of the perfect venue, and after a long search without finding “”the one,”” Ellingham instantly stood out. The staff are absolutely amazing, they went above and beyond to help us create the most perfect day, and it truly was perfect. We honestly can’t thank them enough. From recommending suppliers (since we lived further away), to answering all our questions, to helping us set up for the big day, they were always there for us. We loved that Ellingham is a two-night wedding venue and that it’s exclusively yours during your stay, which made everything feel so personal and intimate. One of our favourite touches was the Poochie Parlour, our dogs are a huge part of our lives, so having a space for them meant everything to us. We’re really hoping they host another Dine & Stay around Christmas or Valentine’s, any excuse to go back! All our guests had such lovely things to say about the staff and the Hall itself. Thank you again for the most amazing day.

“The venue was immaculately presented and very welcoming. Easy to find just off the A1, with plenty of parking next to the meeting rooms and closer space to unload equipment. The area provided for breakout/coffee/lunch had plenty of room and was a relaxed environment, which gave delegates the chance to meet each other before the conference. The food and drink was plentiful, and of a good standard. The meeting room itself was well equipped and a nice size for our group, not to feel crowded, but also not lost as can happen in large rooms. The staff were on hand all day and happy to help with any of our requests.”

We were 27 people and we enjoyed a Champagne reception before a delicious three course lunch. Wendy and her team could not do enough for us, our every request was granted. Dietary requirements were very efficiently and creatively dealt with and the result was a most enjoyable event at a price I was very satisfied with. I would definitely use Ellingham Hall again for a function like this.”
